I’m Maria and I’m so happy to welcome you to Healthy Forkful, a healthy foodie world created specially for you.
In Healthy Forkful you will get inspiration, advice, suggestions and lots of tips for cooking and living a healthy choice.
I have been all my life surrounded by food. My mum was my first teacher. She showed me and inspired me to experiment in the kitchen.
After college, I move to Dublin, improved my English, studied Culinary Arts and got lots of experience in professional kitchens.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot around the world. I love discovering new culinary habits, tasting new and different ingredients and playing with ‘weird’ cooking utensils.
I remember the first time I tried quinoa in remote village in Peru. The clay tagines in Morocco, the spice markets in Turkey or the lobster soup in Iceland. I enjoy taking small trips to European cities always having a foodie map as a guide 😛
I lived in Southern Asia for nearly a year and worked in Cambodia as a Culinary Advisor in a health cafe. There we served up fresh and creative food, had delicious raw vegan dishes, amazing juices and smoothies and also organized cleanse programs.
Currently I’m living in Barcelona. I have worked as Executive Chef in an organic restaurant. But now I’ve decided to focus in my career as Nutritional and Health Coach (cerificated by IIN-Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York) and also promoting healthy cooking throw courses and private classes.
With Healthy Forkful I want to share my experience and experiments and make it easier for you to live a more nutritious life.
